PERSONAL · A THIRD FIELD PRACTICE

The Long Table.

For the friends who became family. A Director-led gathering to reconnect, recognize what your friendship has carried and make room for who you are now.

TIME FOR THE FRIENDSHIP ITSELF

A day for the friendship itself.

We have rituals for marriage, graduation, death, and promotion. We have almost no rituals for the friendships that carried us through all of them.

History is not the same as presence. The Long Table makes room to remember what you share and meet the people you are now.

Four invitations, not a script.

The Director may make room for questions like these within your agreed scope. Take part in your own way, reshape an invitation or pass. No one is asked to disclose more than they choose.

  • Remembering

Which shared moment still says something important about this friendship—and what did each of you experience differently?

  • Witnessing

What familiar roles, if any, still fit you—and what part of who you are now would you like the others to meet?

  • Blessing

What ordinary act of care has mattered to you that you have never fully named? Offer gratitude or good wishes in your own words; no faith or formal ceremony is required.

  • Continuance

What would staying close look like in the lives you have now, without asking anyone to promise more than they can give?

What may stay with you

Perhaps one appreciation finally spoken, or a small way of making room for each other. You decide what, if anything, to take forward; no continuing commitment is required.

What this
makes room for.

The Long Table is our Inner Circle format within Personal. Private preparation helps the Director shape the conversation; no one is assigned a fixed role or pressed into a disclosure.

Your scope, made clear.

Personal Councils gather up to eight, and start at $3,200 for 2–4 guests and $6,800 for 6–8. Other sizes are quoted individually, and larger groups are arranged by proposal.

Preparation, live support, written materials and hospitality arrangements are different parts of the offer. Your proposal confirms what is included before purchase.

Personal and Leadership Councils are Director-led. The self-guided Map offers a shared reflection, prompts and a small practice for your own time. If you are unsure, Field Discovery can help clarify the next step.

A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS

Before you gather.

What can a Long Table conversation explore?

Depending on what people choose to share, the Director can make room for a remembered moment, an unspoken thank-you, a role someone would like to change, or a small way to care for the friendship now. These are invitations, not conclusions about anyone.

Must we revisit difficult history or forgive one another?

No. You can pass, set a boundary or keep a reflection private. The Long Table does not require disclosure, agreement or forgiveness, and is not therapy or a promise of repair.

How is a Long Table Council different from a self-guided Map?

The Long Table is a prepared, Director-led Personal Council. The self-guided Relational Map is a separate option: a reviewed shared reflection, conversation prompts and a practical next step, without live facilitation. Your Council proposal confirms its own written reflection and scope.
