PERSONAL · A THIRD FIELD PRACTICE

The Council of Honor.

For a milestone, retirement or living tribute. Give people time to name the stories, gratitude and everyday gifts that deserve to be heard.

Ask about your gathering

A LITTLE FURTHER INTO THE CONVERSATION

More than the role they have held.

The Director shapes the invitations around the honoree’s wishes and the agreed scope. Each person chooses what to offer; a tribute need not become a public account of someone’s private life.

  • Which ordinary act or lasting contribution would you most like to thank this person for, in your own words?
  • Which stories does the honoree want shared, and what should remain private?
  • What would you like to ask them about who they are now, beyond the role they have held?

What may stay with you

Perhaps a specific thank-you finally spoken, or a conversation you choose to continue. No one is required to share a story, settle a difference or make a future commitment. This Director-led Council is distinct from the Couples Map’s private Folio and shared-report sequence.

What this
makes room for.

A Director prepares the sequence around the honoree and the people gathering. What is shared, with whom and for what purpose is agreed with those taking part. The occasion is not permission to expose someone’s private history.

Your scope, made clear.

Personal Councils gather up to eight, and start at $3,200 for 2–4 guests and $6,800 for 6–8. Other sizes are quoted individually, and larger groups are arranged by proposal.

Preparation, live support, written materials and hospitality arrangements are different parts of the offer. Your proposal confirms what is included before purchase.

Timing, booking and changes

Find the right
level of support.

Personal and Leadership Councils are Director-led. The Couples Map is a supported five-movement reading for home use; a privately driven wine-country day is optional. If you are unsure, Field Discovery can help clarify the next step.

A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS

Before you gather.

What occasions suit a Council of Honor?

A milestone, retirement or living tribute can be a reason to gather. The Director shapes the occasion around the honoree and the people whose stories and gratitude give it meaning.

Can people contribute without speaking publicly?

Participation and sharing are choices. Tell the Director what you are comfortable contributing; no one is required to disclose private history or make a public tribute. The agreed format sets out how contributions may be used.

Is this an archive of someone’s life?

No. The launch experience centers on a prepared gathering and the reflection agreed for it, not a biography or a complete family record. Each person decides which memories and words they wish to bring.
