LEADERSHIP & TEAMS · A THIRD FIELD PRACTICE
The Alignment Council.
For founders, partners and leadership teams who need clearer decisions, responsibilities and a working rhythm they can sustain.
Ask about your gatheringA LITTLE FURTHER INTO THE CONVERSATION
From the stated agreement to the work.
Within the agreed scope, the Director can help the group consider questions like these. They are not a test of competence or character, and disagreement may remain visible.
- What decision is actually yours to make now, and what still needs evidence or another person’s input?
- What makes it easier or harder for a different view to be heard in this group?
- What would each person be willing to own—and what cannot honestly be promised?
- What would tell you an agreement is working, and when would you choose to revisit it?
What may stay with you
Perhaps a decision made clearer, a difference left honestly unresolved, or a next step with an owner who has agreed to it. The work records actual choices, not assumed consensus or a guaranteed result.
What this
makes room for.
Private principal reflections, a Director Field Map, a Council Dossier, facilitated conversation and a written Alignment Covenant form the offer. Decisions made, decisions deferred, owners and follow-up belong in the record. Additional interviews, sessions, specialist support or sponsor-facing materials are included only if agreed in scope.
Your scope, made clear.
Alignment Council: $8,400–$18,000. Other formats by scope.
Preparation, live support, written materials and hospitality arrangements are different parts of the offer. Your proposal confirms what is included before purchase.

Personal and Leadership Councils are Director-led. The self-guided Map offers a shared reflection, prompts and a small practice for your own time. If you are unsure, Field Discovery can help clarify the next step.
Compare all experiencesA FEW GOOD QUESTIONS
Before you gather.
How is an Alignment Council different from a team-building offsite?
It centers on a real decision or transition: how people disagree, decide and follow through. Private preparation and Director-led conversation support the agreed work, rather than a generic activity agenda.
Does organizing or paying for a Council give an employer access to private reflections?
No. Organizing or paying does not itself grant access or let anyone consent for another participant. Private preparation and group-facing materials have different audiences; the Director agrees scope and sharing permissions before the work begins. Shared material may be recognizable within a small group. This is not employee assessment or surveillance.
What is the practical follow-through?
The agreed written Alignment Covenant records decisions made or deferred, responsibilities and next steps people actually accept. It does not turn an unresolved view into consensus or substitute for HR, legal or formal mediation support.
